P.J. Smullen, rider of Flying Jib (GB), trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not handle the ground and lost her action in the straight.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Grandma Dotty trained by C.F. Swan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled throughout this race.
